Ethical Fashion
Whilst size zero models have made the headlines of London Fashion Week it’s great to see that ethical fashion is creeping onto the agenda too. I went to an inspiring evening at the cool Dana Centre last night, where 5 recycled fashion pioneers showcased their collections and talked through how their garments are made. My favourite designer there has to be aGain NYC who resuse materials to create bags and purses which look fantastic. Personally I’m not a huge fan of items that scream ‘I’m recycled’, but aGain NYC’s range is really cool without the recycled label – what’s more I made my own cute badge using some of their offcut material.
There’s more on this event on the BBC website, and also a good piece on the issues surronding ethical fashion in this months Ecologist.
