Green Venues
We’ve been doing some research lately into London venues and their environmental policies. Whilst there’s definitely a long way to go, we were pleasantly suprised by some of the initiatves underway. Even traditional buildings which could be restricted due to listed status etc. have been taking the plunge. The Guildhall, for example, has one of the most advanced and efficient combined heat and power systems in Europe, and offsets its carbon emissions. There are, unfortunately, still one or two venues out there who aren’t even doing the basics – they shall remain nameless, but is there really an excuse for not recycling waste paper, or not using low energy lightbulbs?
