Katine – It Starts With a Village
We had the pleasure of organising a conference for the Guardian last week focussing on the work they’ve been doing in the village of Katine in Uganda. Speakers at the event included Lord Malloch-Brown and Alan Rusbridger, editor of the Guardian, and the seminar was followed by a reception and private view of a new art exhibition from Katine.
You can find more information about this fantastic project on the Guardian website. While international aid is a controversial area with little in the way of easy wins, the Katine project shows the power of engaging an audience by showing the reality of life on the ground rather than quoting statistic after statistic.
